Abstract

. Classification JEL : O18, O55, R23 [eng] What’s urban transition ? Urban growth, growth of cities, growth of needs : the African example . Urban transition is much more than a statistical change : it is also a change in the functioning and the organization of territories ; in their management and in the management of housing and inhabitants ; it is finally a political change. This article deals with these numerous changes and exposes particularly the African case because this continent is the most marked by the question of urban transition which raises here numerous debates around the identification of relevant territories to assure the promotion of development and provokes cause for concern. . JEL classification : O18, O55, R23
