Abstract

[eng] Italian banking system : features and paradox . First, this interview presents challenges and objectives of most important Italian banks and also describes the Italian banking system’s features. During the last decade, this system has known a large wave of reorganization which has allowed to improve the profitability of the banking sector. But the system’s structure remains parcelled. In a second part, the interview deals with the likely developments like cross-border agreements particularly with French banks. . . Classification JEL : F36, G21
