Abstract

[eng] The Asian Emerging Capital Markets : an Overview. The Asian emerging markets are currently facing a lasting turmoil. Nevertheless their impressive growth and track record but also their diversity must not be forgotten. The purpose of this article is to analyze these phenomena and to underline possible links between rapid economic growth and financial deepening, in the light of the dramatic changes in the structure of financing. The current crisis could eventually be positive if it leads to accompany financial liberalization with a more credible macro-economic policy and a more effective prudential policy.
