Abstract

[eng] News way of managing savings views of the socio-economics of savings. Macro and socio-economics of savings have always been kept apart. Ii is a pity, since progress obtained by the former is most likely related to thorough appraisal of the latter. Two socio-economic approaches are proposed here dealing, on one hand, with savings targets and intentions and, on the other hand, with savings regularity and the importance of amounts saved. Survey data show the importance of two variables largely present in the economic theory : the saver's age and income. However, beyond these typical variables, some strong oppositions appear depending on savers' activities : working or non working savers, and among the latter : self-employed, executive and non-executive salaried workers.
