Abstract

[eng] This paper deals with strategic decisions toward entry in a restricted oligopoly, the market of commercial aircrafs. It follows the strategic dilemma of entry decision, using some theoretical tools from game theory. In a first step the analysis focuses on individual firms, incumbent or potential competitor. In the second step, the market is considered globally and new strategic options are revealed. A last stage comes back to the incumbent firms and considers their respective situation in different possible outcomes, giving way to possible evolutions of the industry. At the methodological level, this paper emphasises the complexite of strategic decision with multiple coalitions.
