Abstract

[fre] La dynamite concurrentielle de la filière internationale du textile habillement a été fortement bouleversée depuis 1970 : modification qualitative et quantitative de la demande, nouveaux entrants, remise en cause des avantages comparatifs, développement des échanges internationaux. Face à ces mouvements, non encore achevés, les firmes du secteur sont amenées à redéfinir en permanence leurs positionnements stratégiques et à mobiliser les avantages comparatifs, aussi bien qualificatifs que quantitatifs, dont elles disposent. Ce questionnement permanent s'opère selon quatre axes : (1) la production, (2) l'organisation globale des flux au sein de la filière, (3) l'écoute du marché et l'adaptation à la demande, (4) la croissance, en utilisant au mieux les opportunités de croissance externe. [eng] The competitive dynamics of the international textile industry has been substantially modified over the last twenty years. Changes in the pattern of demand, new entrants, development of foreign exchanges have challenged the traditional comparative advantages of firms and Nations. Firms of ther industry are facing these changing conditions of competition ; they must proceed to a permanent redefinition of their market positions, through a complete mobilization of the comparative advantages they have, more specifically : (1) production techniques, (2) global organization within the industry, (3) demand management strategy and (4) growth by taking advantage of opportunities of external growth.
