Abstract

[fre] Résumé . Au cours de son existence (1852-1944), la compagnie des mines de Courrières a été confrontée à trois risques majeurs : les destructions partielles ou totales de ses installations lors de la catastrophe du 10 mars 1906 et de la Première Guerre mondiale, et la crise du marché charbonnier à partir de 1928. L'objet de cet article est d'analyser les différentes stratégies ayant permis à l'entreprise de renouer après chacune de ces épreuves, avec un dynamisme en termes d'extraction, d'investissement et de performances financières. [eng] Abstract . Courrières' Company had faced up to three major risks. Its facilities have been destroyed in a first time in March 1906 by the coal dust explosion and, in a second time, during World War the First. Then, from 1928, the coal crises represents a new major risk for the company. The managers were successful to meet these challenges. The aim of this article is to examine the corporate strategies to restore output, investment and financial ratios.
