Abstract

[eng] The analysis of multiple and various sources let appear the trend of renewal in the bank elite, during the last twenty years before 1914. Some people, beginning as employees, without financial resources or relations, but competent and leaders, take control of the banks. Talent take the place of birth. Like the other big credit establishments, Société Générale knows a rapid expansion at the end of the 19th century. Its managers, as Louis Dorizon did, sometimes realised good social climb; their success could be explained less by their origins than by their vocational training and their human abilities. However, did they really become well integrated into the Finance world, told so closed?
