Abstract

[eng] Abstract Schleiermacher's thought is a standart for all those who aim to conciliate christianism, modern culture and pluralist society. Theological attemps, made in Germany and Great Britain, to renovate Catholicism and protestantism are not without repercussion in France. Such a moderate review as the Revue des Deux Mondes meant to create a link between spiritualism, catholic liberalism, moderate evangelism and protestant liberalism against increasing materialism. But anticlericalism grew up, while confessionnal identities became stronger. However, innovating ideas came to reach french Catholicism, like Möhler's and Newman's theories.
