Abstract

[fre] Résumé Entre 1974 et 1978 Peugeot SA (PSA) reprend Citroën et les filiales européennes de Chrysler. C'est la constitution d'une General Motors française qui permet à PSA de devenir dès 1978 le premier constructeur automobile européen. Cette croissance externe ne s'explique pas seulement par une course au volume à laquelle participent tous les constructeurs. C'est aussi la mise en place d'une nouvelle stratégie industrielle avec la constitution d'une banque d'organes et d'une politique de plateforme, également le souci d'internationaliser le groupe au niveau européen et même mondial. Mais la croissance externe s'explique aussi par un contexte économique et politique nouveau. En reprenant Citroën puis Chrysler-Europe, PSA se donne les moyens de l'indépendance et de la pérennité. [eng] Abstract Between 1974 and 1978, Peugeot SA (PSA) picks up Citroën and the european subsidiaries of Chrysler Corporation. It's the formation ofafrench General Motors which allows PSA to became from 1978 the first european automobile maker. This extern growth understands not only with a politic of production 's development which is carried out by all the makers. It's the starting up of a new industrial stategy with the creation of an engines bank, of an plate-form politic, and of the will to internationalize the group. But the extern growth understands with a new economic and politic context too. Picking up Citroën and Chrysler-Europe, PSA have the possibility to keep indépendant.
