Abstract

[eng] Abstract The Pasteur Institute is one of those scientific organizations which exist as "place of memory", moulding and shaping their own history. Those who work at The Pasteur Institute build up a past which is adapted to needs of successive scientific generations. Therefore, they confirm and legitimize their identity and the life of their Institute. The gap between Pasteurians mythical memory and their real History allows us to distinguish their originality. With this theme in mind comes an innovative look on the way Pasteuriens speak of themselves and of their scientific and prof essionnal experiences, based on a study of archives, from 1889 to 1914.
