Abstract
[eng] Abstract The foreign policy of Louis XIV meets with a strong literary opposition, a part of which was wrote or translated in French. German polemists regard the french expansionism as an evidence of a constant ambition which highly exceed the diplomacy or the personality of the king. His attempts to reduce the consciences to slavery and the spiritual field to his autority, and the expansionist past of his country were the obvious proofs of his ambition. This dark vision imposes an assimilation between Louis XIV and the Sultan, spiritual leader of Islam and ruler of an empire calling for the universal domination.
