Abstract

[eng] Abstract Alexandrine de La Ferronays, Mireille Dupouey et Alice Ollé-Laprune, three french widows of the nineteenth's and early twenthieth's centuries give an exemple of the concept of conjugal spirituality through their correspondance and « Cahiers ». The success of these testimonies among Roman catholics was immediate. These three women refused another union, because they wanted to keep faithfull to their late husband love. They found in their profound faith the strength to endure this trial. By their marital fidelity during and after life, they realized the ideal of religious marriage. Marital bounds are not broken by death and the deceased husband becomes an intercessor with God. They personified the roman catholic widow model, but added an other dimension by conciliating human love and God worship. The three experiences represent the bases of conjugal spirituality concept.
