Abstract

[eng] Summary How understand the « go-between » Antonio Caracciolo, abbot of Saint-Victor next bishop of Troyes, then seen as an heretic and dead in 1570 as an apostate rejected out of both catholic and protestant reformations ? In such a case, denominational sights are of no use and better seems to study the religious sensibility of that prelate whose destiny is certainly exceptional though representative of those who stand against the « Konfessionsbildung » (i. e. denominational construction) in the area between both denomination that have been described as a sort of « low-country of belief ».
