Abstract

[eng] Abstract From a Ph.D. thesis on a neighbourhood of the industrial town of Saint-Etienne, the author emphasizes the possible tautological drift of the monographic studies. However, historical anthropology of the neighbourhood makes it possible to define the social identities. Sexual-social relationships between men and women can be read in the urban spaces. The prosopographic approach allows us to renew reflection on social and professional mobilités, but must be applied to the whole town.
