Abstract

[eng] Aid to companies: 134 billion francs in 1982 - In 1982, com panic from the EEC. received 134 billion francs in aid from public administrations and This aid was given in very diverse forms and according to very diverse modalities, which makes a definition and an evaluation often delicate and sometimes arbitrary. Two-thirds of the aid took the form of grants for development. The farming industry was the first sector to benefit from this aid. But the portion allotted to industry has increased since 1981 because of aid given to nationalized companies. In relation to added value, this aid has great weight in certain sectors: farming, steel, transportation, naval construction, aeronautics, armament, and housing. In addition to these 134 billion francs, companies also benefitted from a reduction in taxes, estimated at 26 billion francs in 1982. The principal beneficiary of these reductions was also the farming industry. The above information constitutes the first results of work completed on data provided by public finance for the years 1979 to 1982.
