Abstract
Highlights the key provisions of the Sale and Supply of Goods to Consumers Regulations 2002, implementing European Parliament and Council Directive 1999/44/EC into English Law. Covers measures on: (1) the definition of “satisfactory quality” and liability in respect of public statements; (2) the conformity with the contract; (3) the passing of risk; (4) new remedies for consumers of repair, replacement, reduction in price or rescission of the contract; (5) the status and form of consumer guarantees; and (6) the seller’s right of recourse.
