Abstract
On the 21st of December 1989, Romania was still having a Constitution established by Ceausescu in 1965. It was a Marxist Constitution which proclaimed the Communist Party as the sole leading political force of the entire society and the Great National Assembly as the supreme institution of the state power. One day later in his escape Ceausescu took this Constitution with him. Designed to protect a regime and a dictator, it was not able to outlive its creator.
