Crisis de acumulación y eslabonamientos sociales: una reflexión histórica

Abstract

Lo que intentamos diseñar en este artículo es un grueso balance útil para entender los problemas actuales, a partir de un acento de reflexión sobre el siglo 19, momento crucial con el que el Perú pierde la oportunidad de empalmar su ritmo de crecimiento a nivel internacional. Esta reflexión no deja de tener elementos subjetivos. Paralelamente a los datos de la historia, emergen formas de interpretar estos datos; asimismo, detrás de los hechos históricos hay agentes, el proceso histórico no es impersonal. Existen “culpables”, así como existen agentes con visión y agentes retrógrados. Lo que se hizo bien o se hizo mal puede ser interpretado de acuerdo a la visión del observador, y a los agentes se les juzga desde una perspectiva moderna, aun si se hace el esfuerzo de entender ciertas razones, actitudes y decisiones. La ventaja que tenemos los de hoy y que encaramos las “lecciones de la historia” es que podemos observar procesos acabados, los resultados acumulados de estas actitudes y decisiones. Es la ventaja absoluta de una perspectiva de largo plazo.
