La Economía Rural de la Sierra Peruana

Abstract

Ll presente artículo tiene la intención de presentar algunos avances del estudio que vengo realizando sobre la economía de la Sierra rural. El estudio pone un mayor énfasis en la economía tradicional, principalmente en la economía del minifundio; las preguntas que busca contestar son: jcómo se explica el subdesarrollo de la Sierra rural? , ¿cómo funciona esta economía? ¿cómo se integra al resto de la economía nacional? . En la sección 1 se presentan algunas características sobre población e ingresos en la Sierra rural; en la sección II se proponen las hipótesis explicativas, las cuales son contrastadas a un nivel todavía muy general en las secciones siguientes. La última sección intenta poner en perspectiva una hipótesis que siendo central al problema estudiado requiere de mayor investigación empírica.
