La demanda de salud infantil en el Perú: un análisis teórico y empírico

Abstract

En el presente artículo, el autor analiza los factores que influyen en el comportamiento de la demanda de salud. Se efectuó un análisis empírico sobre la base de modelos de regresión con variables dicotómicas sobre una muestra de 4,540 niños en el Perú. Las principales interrogantes que se intentan responder son las siguientes: ¿qué factores explican la frecuencia de enfermedades de los niños en el Perú y la decisión del jefe de hogar de visitar servicios médicos? y ¿cuáles son los determinantes en la toma de decisión de visitar un especifico centro de salud?
