Abstract

Cet examen contient les « Principales conclusions et recommandations » du Comité d’aide au développement et le rapport du Secrétariat. Il a été préparé avec les examinateurs représentant l’Irlande et le Portugal pour l’examen qui a eu lieu le 4 décembre 2008. Des changements constructifs d’importance sont intervenus dans le programme d’aide de l’Australie depuis 2004, les priorités ont évolué vers la réduction de la pauvreté, la promotion des objectifs du millénaire pour le développement (OMD) et le déliement complet des programmes d’aide. Tout en augmentant le montant des aides, l’Australie doit s’efforcer d’avoir une approche efficace, notamment en travaillant en collaboration ou à travers d’autres donneurs. L’Australie a su intégrer la question de l’égalité des sexes dans ses programmes et doit maintenant adopter la même démarche pour les questions environnementales.
