Innovation and New Materials for Building Energy Saving

Abstract

The work purpose is the analysis of ongoing trends in constructions through the investigation of main product innovations that have been introduced to the market in the last year. The aim is to analyze the impacts on market dynamics produced by energy saving regulations such as the establishment of new building rules and consequently the need of the companies to make use of new products suitable for buildings energy saving. The paper is a survey of the so called «energy saving challenge», through the analysis of the related current law, its links with climate changes studies and the verification of production and business choices of materials producers. It's focused the high importance of R&D activity carried out in the last years as input for innovative practices in a sector characterized by strong and established production systems.
