Abstract

Based on a participant observation research I have tried to identify some of the major barriers to intercultural communication with regard to translations and promotion of Romanian literature abroad. In this article, I bring into discussion three of them: defining literature in a different manner, new forms of “censorship” and controversial codes of contemporary Romanian literature.
