Análisis de la convergencia de la tasa de participación femenina en Galicia entre los sectores agrícola y no agrícola

Abstract

La evolución de la tasa de participación femenina en Galicia viene caracterizada, fundamentalmente, por la importancia que tiene la actividad de las mujeres en el sector agrícola. Cuando el sector agrícola comenzó a perder peso se destruyeron muchos puestos de trabajo, viéndose el colectivo femenino muy afectado por este hecho. A consecuencia de ello se liberó abundante mano de obra dando lugar a una disminución de la participación femenina en el agricultura y a una incorporación progresiva de la mujer al trabajo asalariado en el sector no agrícola. In this paper we investigate, by means of cointegration, the existence of convergence between rates for the labour market in Galicia. Using trimestral data for the period 1976-III to 1992-IV, the empirical results show the existence of divergence between the female agricultural participation and female no agricultural participation.
