Abstract
The expansion of the number of cultural festivals in recent years makes this phenomenon a topic of growing interest in the field of cultural economics. Thus, the purpose of this article is to analyse the demand of a cultural festival –specifically a film festival- and to study the significance of some socio demographic variables, as well as variables related to cultural consumption and accumulated experience on these events, showing that this kind of variables are more important than monetary ones. The estimate was made through an econometric model for count data, or negative binomial model, using the results of a survey carried out to the public attending the Valladolid International Film Festival.
