Abstract

The aim of this research is to evaluate the efficiency levels of Galician wind parks in the generation of electricity in the year 2004. Methodologically, the main instruments used are Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) techniques, as complements, parametric deterministic and stochastic techniques. The results show that there is a high average level of efficiency; in general some units however, do under perform in spite of the suitability of their operating conditions. This information should be useful for corporate promoters of wind parks, the regulator of the sector and society in general.
