Abstract

Available natural resources, labour, capital and the technology factors have been the roots of the big transformations taken place in numerous territories. However, in the last times, the role of the knowledge, the intellectual capital, has won a bigger importance in growth process. In this sense, we use a aggregate model, that considers: human and structural capitals, where each component is determined using absolute and relative (efficiency) indicators. These indicators activate, supported in enterprise models, different expenditures as intangible stocks. In this work, we propose an approach, supported on principal components analysis, for the determination of the efficiency indicators used in the measurement of structural capital. Finally, we analyse the relationship between this capital and the Spanish regional economic growth.
