    Abstract

The interest for the analysis of the efficiency in the university has increased over the last years although there are few studies that pay attention to the characteristics of the educational production process. This article is aimed at reviewing the variables that define that process and emphasizing the suitability or not of using them to build up efficiency evaluation models in order to reach conclusions regarding the main dangers when doing this kind of studies. All in all, an account of the existing research is given with the purpose of measuring the efficiency of the University to develop its activities.
