Abstract

In this paper, a problem related with the collection, transport and treatment of waste is presented. Generator centres and treatment facilities are considered, and new treatment plants can be installed. The locations of treatment facilities are selected according to economics criteria, risk and equity. In this work, it is considered that some generator centres are treatment facilities too; an example is the management of special sanitary waste in hospitals. A goal programming model is formulated and an application is shown.
