Abstract

A nyugdíjrendszerek jövőjéért, a majdani idősek nyugdíjáért sokan aggódnak, néha még "összeomlással" is ijesztgetnek. Általában a demográfiai "bombát", a népesség öregedését okolják, és gyakran üdvözítő megoldásként tüntetik fel a nyugdíjprivatizációt. A cikk azt kívánja bizonyítani, hogy ezek a tényezők alárendelt jelentőségűek; ezzel szemben az igazi, nagy kihívást a foglalkoztatottság alacsony színvonala jelenti. A következtetés az, hogy az időskori jövedelembiztonság egész rendszerét újra kell gondolni. Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) kód: J21, J26.
