Abstract

1990 başlarına kadar para krizleri birinci nesil teorik modellerle incelenmekteydi. Birinci nesil modellere göre para krizlerinin nedeni hükümetin bütçe açığını yurtiçi kredilerle finanse etmesidir. 1990’lı yıllarda Meksika, Avrupa ve Asya ülkelerinde yaşanan krizler sonrasında para krizlerini açıklamaya yönelik teorik çalışmaların sayısında büyük artış görülmüş, ikinci nesil ve üçüncü nesil olmaya aday teorik modeller geliştirilmiştir. İkinci nesil teorik modellerde, birinci nesil modellerin aksine, hükümetin sabit döviz kuru politikasının yararı ve maliyetini dikkate alarak kur politikasıyla ilgili karar verdiği ve krizlerin ortaya çıkışında bireylerin beklentilerinin önemli olduğu iddia edilmektedir. Üçüncü nesil olmaya aday modellerde ise finansal sektör ve şirketler kesimindeki sorunlar, başka bir ülkedeki kriz gibi faktörlerin para krizlerinde oynadıkları rol vurgulanmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı para krizleriyle ilgili sözü edilen teorik çalışmaları özetlemek ve uygulamalı çalışmalarda ulaşılan sonuçlarla ilgili genel bir değerlendirme yapmaktır
