Determinantes de la demanda temporal de turismo: una aproximación microeconómica con un modelo de duración

Abstract

En el presente trabajo se analiza la demanda de turismo en el extranjero, canalizada a través de los denominados vuelos de bajo coste. En el marco conceptual microeconómico de demanda del consumidor, y mediante un modelo econométrico de duración, se mide la importancia de diversos factores explicativos (personales del turista, del viaje y de su estancia) sobre la duración del viaje. El modelo estimado permite también generar perfiles de turistas a partir de diferentes valores de las variables explicativas y las duraciones esperadas asociadas, de los que se presentan dos casos a título de ejemplo.
