Reverse logistics and resource recovery: modelling car dismantling facilities
Abstract
Reverse logistics is addressed as new business issue promoted by the compulsory targets regulation enacted by the EU, to lower pollution and to reduce raw stuffs consumption. The paper gives a survey of the existing legal frame, and suggests the modelling and simulation path to assess the dismantling process. Such path permits the quantitative assessment of the recovery (reuse, recycling) incumbents allotted, according to the National laws in force, to the ATFs, Authorised Treatment Facilities, at the dismantling step. The study issues organise in terms of operation figures, to compare competitive lay-outs and provide hints for the ATFs' effective design.Download Info
