Expenses and income of Polish households from 1990 to 2006

Abstract

Considerable socio-economic changes occurred in Poland in the period from 1990 to 2006. Final decisions made by households depended on the influence of many different factors that in turn allowed for determining quantitative and qualitative changes in consumption structure. The assessment of changes occurring both in the structure of expenses and income in Polish households required making detailed analyses of statistical materials that had been collected since 1990. The paper aims is presenting the most important changes and tendencies observed after 1990 with reference to the way in which the amount of income and expenses was shaped.
