Abstract

The problem of search for new improved methods of assessment of the level of product competitiveness and efficient ways of its growth is topical and requires a more detailed study. The goal and task of the article is a study of main directions of assessment of product quality as a main component of its competitiveness and development of expression of the indicator of goods competitiveness on the basis of it. Analysing, systemising and generalising scientific works of many scientists, the article considers main approaches to assessment of quality of products and allocates the one that is more widely used when assessing competitiveness of industrial products. The article compares "consumption cost of production" and "product quality" categories and establishes that, if compared with the consumption cost, the quality is a more specific and content-wide notion, which reflects all sides of satisfaction of customer needs and specific features of the customer's perception of products. In the result of the study the article develops an expression of the indicator of product competitiveness. The prospect of further study in this direction is consideration of approaches to assessment of effectiveness of the organisational and economic mechanism of ensuring competitiveness of industrial products and main directions of its improvement.
