Abstract
La liberalización del sector eléctrico busca como objetivo un incremento de eficiencia en dicha industria. Es de especial relevancia la inversión en nueva capacidad de generación puesto que el suministro eléctrico es indispensable en la mayoría de los procesos productivos. En este contexto, el objetivo del presente trabajo es proporcionar una comprensión de la dinámica específica de la decisión de inversión de generación en los nuevos mercados eléctricos liberalizados. Así, desarrollamos un modelo de simulación del mercado eléctrico español para determinar si los precios de electricidad, junto con la garantía de potencia, actual incentivo a la inversión, proporcionan una señal adecuada en cuanto al momento y cantidad de nuevas inversiones a realizar. / Liberalization of electricity industry has as its basic objective an increasing of efficiency. The investment decision in new generation capacity is especially relevant because the electricity supply is indispensable due to its utilization in the majority of the productive processes. In this context, the objective of this paper is to provide a comprehension of the specific dynamics of the generation investment in the new liberalized electricity markets. So, we develop a simulation model of the Spanish electricity market to determine if the electricity prices, shaped in the wholesaler market and the power guarantee, actual investment incentive, provide a suitable sign with regard to the moment and amount of new investments to be made.Download Info
