Internacionalización de las PYMES en Colombia

Abstract

Este artículo presenta evidencia empírica sobre la participación de las pequeñas y medianas empresas (PYMES) colombianas en los mercados internacionales entre 2000 y 2012, y discute los elementos que han sido facilitadores del proceso de inserción internacional de estos negocios y las barreras que aún deben ser superadas, así como el rol que ha jugado hasta ahora y debe jugar la política pública. El análisis descriptivo se basa en datos de los registros de comercio internacional oficiales de la Dirección de Aduanas e Impuestos de Colombia (DIAN), procesados para motivar la discusión del documento. Fuera de esto, no se entrega un trabajo empírico original, sino se discuten los hallazgos de un trabajo empírico previo que ha explorado aspectos de la internacionalización de las PYMES en Colombia.
