    Abstract

    In order to better understand their majors’ curriculum, and to do economic analysis and create mathematical models when they graduate, students studying Commercial Science have to know mathematics very well. However, high school graduates who decide to study Commercial Science are not very interested mathematics. There is a nontrivial number of students among these graduates who choose social sciences because they are not sucsessful in or dislike mathematics. Thus, a new approach to teaching mathematics is essential. In this study, the simple but effective methods used in Commercial Science Faculty for the last 8 years are explained. The contents of the mathematics courses and the way the contents are taught are of utmost importance.
