Budgetary Performance of Southern States In India: 1993-94 to 2001-02

Abstract

This paper examines the budgetary performance of southern states inorder to identify the differences among the states in the direction of budgetary resources and expenditure, in the management of fiscal consolidation. Budgetary performance of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, are also analyzed for the period 1993-94 to 2000-01.
