Valoración económica de los servicios sanitarios en la Comunidad Autónoma del País Vasco

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo ha sido asignar una valoración económica a los servicios sanitarios en la Co-munidad Autónoma de País Vasco. Con este fin se ha realizado una encuesta incluyendo un experimento de elección discreta. Para tratar las respuestas y obtener la valoración económica analizada, se ha aplicado un Modelo Logit Mixto. Los resultados indican que el atributo más valorado de la sanidad pública actual es el trato médico y que existe heterogeneidad en las preferencias de los individuos res-pecto al tiempo de espera para especialista, intervención y confort hospitalario. Los grupos de individuos con preferencias diferentes al resto que se han podido identificar son los autónomos, individuos con estudios universitarios e individuos con ingresos elevados. La aportación principal del trabajo es la cuantificación en unidades monetarias de las preferencias de los individuos con respecto a los servicios sanitarios en la Comunidad Autónoma de País Vasco. Estas valoraciones podrían ser empleadas tanto en el ámbito empresarial como en política de asignación de recursos públicos. Clasificación JEL: I11, I18, C35
