Sviluppo sostenibile e vulnerabilit? del territorio italiano alla desertificazione

Abstract

In questo lavoro viene presentata una valutazione del territorio italiano al rischio di desertificazione come fenomeno ambientale potenzialmente legato al tema dello sviluppo sostenibile delle regioni Mediterranee. Il tema ? particolarmente rilevante per le implicazioni ecologiche e socio-economiche ad esso connesse. Viene in particolare proposto un sistema di monitoraggio integrato, a fini di informazione delle politiche territoriali. La situazione registrata in Italia nel periodo di osservazione (1960-2010) ? legata ad un progressivo peggioramento delle condizioni di vulnerabilit? con incrementi pi? evidenti nelle zone di pianura e nel nord Italia. Tale sistema di monitoraggio ? in grado di indirizzare le strategie di sviluppo sostenibile verso una maggiore attenzione alle tematiche ambientali del cambiamento climatico e del degrado dei suoli.
