Abstract

De financiële malversaties in een aantal grote en gereputeerde beursgenoteerde bedrijven, zakenbanken die, ondanks de negatieve informatie waarover ze beschikten, klanten aanraadden aandelen te blijven kopen, het zijn enkele elementen die mee geleid hebben tot het gigantische waardeverlies op de financiële beurzen en die een grondige discussie op gang hebben gebracht over de rol die eenieder moet spelen in de wereld van de financiële communicatie en waarbij een evenwicht moet gevonden worden tussen de financiële belangen van beursgenoteerde bedrijven, banken en belegger enerzijds en beroepsethiek anderzijds. De reflectie is in ieder geval gestart en heeft reeds geleid tot een aantal initiatieven op alle niveaus teneinde de geloofwaardigheid en het vertrouwen te herstellen.
