Potencialidades Ecoturísticas De La República Dominicana

Abstract

República Dominicana es conocida como uno de los principales destinos internacionales de turismo de sol y playa. Actualmente el turista que visita el país, viaja buscando ofertas complementarias a este tipo de turismo, y una de ellas es el llamado turismo ecológico o ecoturismo. El Ministerio de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales de la República Dominicana está trabajando en la recuperación de áreas protegidas y en la creación de rutas ecoturísticas en tales áreas protegidas, con el objetivo de mejorar la oferta de este turismo en el país, ya sea dirigida a la población local, como al turismo internacional, o incluso a ambos. El principal problema de las actuaciones que se están llevando a cabo, aparece en las debilidades de algunas de las actuaciones que se están ejecutando. Nuestro objetivo es analizar y profundizar en el conocimiento de la actividad ecoturística en República Dominicana, siguiendo para ello una metodología centrada en el trabajo en el propio destino, aplicando un método cualitativo.
