Una Mirada A 10 Años De Turismo En El Caribe Insular

Abstract

Comportamiento de llegadas, ingresos turísticos, alojamiento hotelero y pasajeros de cruceros en el Caribe Insular en 2000-2010, comparándolo con su comportamiento anterior y con el mundial. El desempeño 2000-2010, es positivo en cuanto a que existen crecimientos absolutos en prácticamente todos los indicadores, el crecimiento promedio de los ingresos turísticos supera al crecimiento promedio de las llegadas y al crecimiento del alojamiento y crecen también los ingresos por llegadas y per cápita. No obstante, las tendencias de todos los crecimientos en el Caribe Insular son sucesivamente decrecientes en general. El desempeño en el siglo XXI resulta menos satisfactorio si lo comparamos con su propio desempeño entre 1980 y 2000. Y si lo comparamos con el nivel mundial, en el mismo periodo 2000-2010, los crecimientos del Caribe Insular muestran un comportamiento general inferior en cuanto a crecimientos de los indicadores considerados.
