Desenvolvimento Regional Sob A Ótica Do Turismo: Estudo De Caso Do Setor Calçadista De Franca

Abstract

Neste artigo encontram-se os resultados do trabalho executado na cidade de Franca, ocorrido entre novembro de 2007 a junho de 2008, consistida na iniciação científica com bolsa do CNPq. Teve como tema central a análise do setor calçadista de Franca e sua relação com o turismo local. A metodologia utilizada foi pesquisa qualitativa de análise de discurso junto ao agente de desenvolvimento local (ADAM). Situa-se, ainda, uma pesquisa de campo de linha observatória nos pontos turísticos, aeroporto, restaurantes e agências receptivas. Franca conta com o apoio do Comtur-Conselho Municipal de Turismo, Secretaria de Turismo, Franca e Região Convention & Visitors Bureu. O setor calçadista encontra-se em crise, porém foi o que mais gerou emprego no primeiro semestre. A saída deste setor pode estar no turismo, segmento de eventos, criando novos empregos e renda, aumento de demanda de turistas, diminuição da sazonalidade e desta forma movimentando todo o trade.
