    Abstract

    El presente artículo hace un recorrido por la evolución de la gestión de mantenimiento en el desarrollo de la actividad empresarial, caracterizando algunas técnicas organizativas como el Mantenimiento Productivo Total (TPM) y el Mantenimiento Centrado en confiabilidad (RCM), con la finalidad de evaluar el comportamiento del equipo de una forma sistemática a fin de poder determinar el nivel de operatividad, y de mantenimiento que se requiere para asegurar a la empresa su integridad y continuidad operacional. Las herramientas en cuestión generalmente están basadas en cálculo de probabilidades estadísticas y ponderaciones relativas de los elementos financieros, operacionales, históricos y de seguridad.
