EVALUACIÓN AGROPRODUCTIVA DEL CUBA OM-22 (Pennisetum purpureum x Pennisetum glaucum) EN UN SUELO PARDO GRISÁCEO ÓCRICO EN EL PERÍODO POCO LLUVIOSO EN LAS TUNAS

    Abstract

    El experimento se realizó en la Estación de Pastos y Forrajes de Las Tunas, con el objetivo de determinar el comportamiento agroproductivo del Cuba OM-22 (Pennisetum purpureum x Pennisetum glaucum) en un suelo Pardo grisáceo ócrico en el período poco lluvioso, se empleó un diseño de bloques al azar con cuatro réplicas y los tratamientos Cuba OM-22 y King grass. Se evaluó el establecimiento y dos cortes, los indicadores evaluados en el establecimiento fueron: porcentaje de emergencia, altura de la planta, materia seca de la planta íntegra, rendimiento de materia seca y número de macollas, en los cortes se evaluaron indicadores de crecimiento y rendimiento. Los resultados obtenidos en el establecimiento fueron: diferencia significativa en dos indicadores, favoreciendo al Cuba OM-22 en ambos, porcentaje de emergencia con 98.4 % y 39 macollas (en 18 m2), no existió diferencias en los restantes indicadores, la materia seca de ambos tratamientos fue de 27 %, el rendimiento de materia seca del Cuba OM-22 fue 11 t/ha, el primer corte no reportó diferencias, en el segundo corte existió diferencias significativas superando el Cuba OM-22 al King grass para los indicadores altura de la planta con 87 cm, longitud del entrenudo con 6.4 cm, materia seca de la planta íntegra con 28.8 %, rendimiento de materia seca acumulada en el período con 4.1 t/ha y número de macollas con 43.
