La contabilidad venezolana en el periodo 1830-1930

Abstract

El trabajo es el resultado, parcial, de una investigación para la reconstrucción de la historia de la contabilidad mercantil (teneduría de libros) en Venezuela durante el periodo 1830-1930. En 1830 inicia Venezuela su vida republicana autónoma una vez concretada la separación de Colombia. Para el año 1930 se empieza a percibir en el país la Gran Depresión del mundo capitalista que tuvo su detonante más visible el 24 de octubre de 1929. Venezuela ya había entrado al capitalismo por efecto de la explosión y subsecuente explotación petrolera. Partiendo de los libros de texto, de autores venezolanos publicados en el lapso se reconstruye la historia de la contabilidad privada. El trabajo se ubica en un entorno socio-económico, y en un espacio y tiempo histórico determinados. Concluye estableciendo el carácter autonómico de la teneduría de libros, venezolana, en el periodo.
