Política Agrícola En México. Reformas Y Resultados: 1988-2006

Abstract

La apertura comercial trajo consigo importantes cambios en el sector agrícola, debido a que su estructura y funcionamiento están vinculadas al modelo de desarrollo de sustitución de importaciones, por lo que desde 1988 la nueva estrategia de política se ha orientado hacia la competitividad, las ventajas comparativas y la inserción de México en el proceso de internacionalización de la agricultura; dicha estrategia enfatizó de manera importante la expansión del sector de frutas y hortalizas, productos de gran demanda en Estados Unidos, sin embargo se descuidó el sector de básicos compuesto por granos, oleaginosas, cárnicos y sus derivados.
